Garden with Housing
Different types of homes are distributed in a shared enclosed garden, forming a collective room without a roof for the neighbourhood. The detailing and structural form of the buildings has been designed as rationally as possible, in favour of sustainability and budgetary control. The modest construction budget is concentrated on fundamental qualities such as spacious floor-to-ceiling heights, vast amounts of daylight and the use of natural materials. Extra emphasis was placed on the qualitative landscape design. With its undemanding appearance, architecture takes a step back and lets greenery fill the foreground. A symbiosis arises between building and nature in which architecture, like scenery flats, frames the greenery. Architecture as background.
